Scientific training workshop entitled “Teaching based on understanding” at Al-Baath University

The second Faculty of Education in Al-Baath University held a scientific training workshop entitled “Teaching based on understanding” at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

President of Al-Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, pointed out that the rapid development of growing community needs in recent years required the development of the concept of education and its content, in terms of curriculum development, teaching techniques, equipment, and teacher performance. He also explained that the aim of this workshop is to provide advanced teaching models that assist teachers in training learners to achieve deep understanding, and involve students in the learning process with developing their mental and practical skills.

For his part, dean of the second Faculty of Education, Prof. Bassel Al Arnous, indicated to the great role of the faculty in organizing these workshops which improve the quality of education and develop educational practices, as the faculty recognizes the importance of developing the skills of faculty members and teachers of schools.

The workshop lasted for three hours and included the following themes: aspects of understanding and its effective planning, actual assessment of the desired learning outcomes, and practical application of understanding-based teaching.

The participating students praised the practical information presented in the workshop, which enriched their theoretical information .
