The Faculty of Agriculture signed a scientific and technical cooperation agreement with the Arab Company for Manufacturing Agricultural and Veterinary Drugs (ACMAVD), to enhance cooperation between the two sides and develop agricultural scientific research.
President of Al-Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, welcomed the signing of the agreement which is a part of series of agreements signed between the university and the public and private sectors. He also pointed out that the university always seeks to develop society in all sectors, especially the Syrian agricultural sector, by giving particular attention to the agricultural scientific researches and by providing the specialized technical personnel. He also indicated that this scientific agreement provides opportunity to support some university facilities such as the farm of the Faculty of Agriculture in kafraya and to exchange expertise by holding joint training courses and supervising students’ researches so the agricultural development is achieved and the national economy is developed.
The company chairman, Eng. Muhammad Zuhair Qazwini, referred to the importance of the agreement in carrying out joint scientific researches regarding agricultural and veterinary drugs as the required materials of treating vegetation will be provided to the university together with an integrated investment plan .
The faculty dean, Prof. Muhammed Al-Masri, stated that this agreement allows cooperation between the faculty and ACMAVD company in many areas, especially the investment of the faculty farm and the development of postgraduate students as well as some research laboratories.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the university vice-presidents, Prof. Maan Salameh, Prof. Nidal Sattouf, Prof. Ahmed Muhanna, and the university secretary, Prof. Fadi Murshid.
