Inaugurating the second international mathematics conference at Al Baath University

With the participation of /92/ researchers from Syria and several countries (Algeria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Indonesia), Al Baath University opened the second mathematics conference organized by the Faculty of Sciences.

President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated that the conference complements the series of conferences organized by Al Baath University with the aim of providing a scientific research platform to present the latest developments in all areas such as theoretical and applied mathematics. Moreover, he pointed out that the conference aims to raise global awareness of mathematical sciences to address challenges in the fields of artificial intelligence and sustainable development and to improve the quality of life in developed and developing worlds. Prof. Al Khatib also highlighted the great role of mathematics in the development of other sciences such as software, algorithms, economics, business, medicine, renewable energy, astronomy and other sciences

Conference activities last two days and include three themes: pure mathematics, applied mathematics and professional preparation of mathematics teachers. More than 58 researches were presented by participants from Arab, foreign, and Syrian universities and the Ministry of Education. The conference aimed to improve the cooperation and communication between researchers in various fields of mathematics, and to showcase the latest innovations, techniques and methods in the field of mathematics. Besides, the goal of the conference was to enhance cooperation and communication between scientists and researchers in various fields of mathematics, highlight the latest innovations, techniques and methods in the field of mathematics, provide a platform for presenting new researches and studies and exchange experiences between scientists and researchers, promote education and training in the field of mathematics and develop the skills of researchers and students, encourage innovation and creativity in the field of mathematics and its application in various scientific and technical fields, underline the importance of mathematics in solving real problems and achieving scientific and technical progress, and identify the challenges and problems facing the professional preparation of a mathematics teacher.

The secretary of B.A.S.P branch at the university, Prof. Fayeq Shadood, the university vice-president for scientific research and postgraduate affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Hadid, the university secretary, Prof. Fadi Murshid, the head of teachers’ syndicate at the university, Prof. Abdul Razzak Al Soufi, and a crowd of interested people attended the conference.
