816 applicants for the entrance examination into the Faculty of Architecture at Al Baath University

22/10/2023With the aim of supporting the process of transferring scientific, technical and applied knowledge to the academic community and providing consultations and specialized scientific services to the company, Al Baath University signed a joint scientific cooperation agreement with Damascus Petrochemical Refinery Company.
President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated to the importance of this agreement which aims to strengthen the frameworks of scientific and cognitive cooperation, help students to benefit from scientific expertise ,and apply theoretical information practically especially in the fields of oil and gas, as Al Baath University is the only Syrian university that has a Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.
Dr. Samer Abou Ammar, general director of Damascus Petrochemical Refinery Company, highlighted the importance of this agreement, which enables the undergraduate and graduate students to benefit from the sites and laboratories of the company for developing their scientific researches, noting that the company has a great interest in the environmental dimension and is keen to rid the environment of factory wastes and transform them into industrial products for supporting the national economy.
The agreement, which will extend over five years, also guarantees training first-year university students within the company, holding workshops, conferences and seminars under the supervision and coordination of both parties, welcoming master’s students and participating in the supervision of their researches and experiments which take place at the refinery, in addition to organizing scientific competitions and saving the winning articles to publish them in a book.
Prof. Niddal Sattouf, Prof. Maan Salamah and Prof. Ahmad Muhanna, vice-presidents of the university, Prof. Fadi Murshed, secretary of the university, and Dr. Marwan Amer, director of development and scientific research at the company, attended the signing of the agreement.
