President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, inspected the unified dental exam and the second session of the unified medical exam, conducted by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for the sixth-year students and those wishing to apply for postgraduate studies in the faculties of medicine in the Syrian public and private universities and Non-Syrian universities.
Prof. Al Khatib indicated that the second session of the unified medical exam included 120 questions in surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, and eye and ear diseases, explaining that the number of students applying for the exam reached (63) students at Al Baath University Center; (33) students of Al Baath University and (30) students of other universities.
He also indicated that the number of applicants for the unified dental exam totalled about (89) students; (7) students of Al Baath University and (82) students of other public and private universities, adding that the exam included 120 multiple-choice questions in the following themes: anesthesia, extractions, oral and maxillofacial surgery – gums and tissues around the teeth – restorative and endodontic treatment – fixed and removable prosthodontics – pediatric dentistry and preventive orthodontics – oral diseases and radiology – oral medicine.
The passing mark of the unified written medical exam is 60%, and the student shall be helped with a maximum of two marks. The rate of the six year is calculated on the basis of the rate of the unified written medical exam . . .
The university vice- presidents, Prof. Elias Boutros and Prof. Maan Salama, deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and the deanship of the Faculty of Dentistry participated in the observation tour.
