President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, discussed during his meeting with the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education in the Russian Federation,Gregory Gorv, the ways to enhance Russian-Syrian scientific cooperation.
During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of deepening and strengthening Russian-Syrian cooperation, academic and administrative student exchange, and activating the agreements signed between the two sides, which contribute to the development of the educational process and scientific research. In addition, Prof. Al Khatib referred to the great interest in teaching the Russian language in Syria, especially with the presence of a large number of interested students and graduates, pointing to the importance of participating in cultural activities, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and scientific activities held in both countries.
Moreover, the Russian vice minister indicated to the interest in strengthening scientific cooperation relations with Syrian universities, as about 1,000 scholarships are offered to Syrian students annually.
As for the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by the Secretary of Al Baath University, the Director of Cultural and International Relations Department, a delegation from Al Hawash Private University, and the Director of Scientific Research at Damascus University. As for the Russian side, the meeting was attended by the Director of International Relations at the Russian Ministry of Higher Education, Russian official on cooperation with Syria, And Director of International Relations of the University.
