Al Baath University participates in the twenty-sixth National Conference on Quality

Al Baath University participated in the twenty-sixth National Quality Conference entitled “The Role of Quality in Supporting the National Economy” which was held by the Syrian Scientific Society for Quality under the auspices of the Minister of Industry at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.

President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated to the importance of the university participation in this conference, especially that the university has devoted serious attention to the development of higher education and scientific research in the light of quality standards and advanced visions and linkage to labour market. In addition, he referred to the significance of exchanging ideas and experiences in the general understanding of the concepts of quality and its relevance at the university level as the university is an educational institution that produces graduates qualified for work in various aspects of life and a center of scientific research.

Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and the representative of the university at the conference,Prof. Walid Sahyouni, gave a lecture entitled “Production and Operations Management – An Introduction to Strategic Planning” in which he discussed the stages of strategic planning and its relationship to the university vision and mission.

The topics of the conference revolved around the role of quality in supporting the national economy through the quality management in the industrial sector and educational institutions, mechanisms for measuring and evaluating the needs of the labor market, and quality management in the banking industry.

At the end of the conference, the Minister of Industry distributed certificates of thanks and appreciation to all lecturers at the conference.
