09/09/2024 The sorting of the university admission eligibility (general, parallel and private) for the academic year 2024-2025 lasts till 26 September 2024. The university vice-president for students and administrative affairs, Prof. Nidal Sattouf, and the member of party leadership at the university branch, Prof. Adnan Al Sheikh Hammoud, have indicated that applying for the admission sorting starts at 10 a.m. via the dedicated link on the electronic website of ministry and admission sorting. Furthermore, the admission sorting will be carried out for scientific, literary, vocational branches, non-resident Syrian students, Arab and foreign students, children of teaching staff, students of eastern governorates, families of martyrs, wounded and missing persons, students with disabilities, private universities, and medical faculties at private universities.
Prof. Sattouf has indicated that the successful students in the high school certificate will be admitted to the Syrian universities and institutes for the academic year 2023-2024, according to the resolutions of the Higher Committee for University Admissions and additional university admission criteria; standard exam at the Faculty of Mass Communication and Faculty of Political Science, entrance exams at the Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Music Education, and Faculty of Physical Education, subject marks at the departments of languages, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and mathematical statistics.
He has also referred that at the end of the preparatory year, 50percent of students will be admitted to the Faculty of Medicine, and 50 percent of students will be distributed to the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Pharmacy. Prof. Sattouf has also pointed to the expansion of the absorptive capacity of the technical institutes, applied faculties and engineering faculties, and to the focus on the specific medical specialties needed by the health sector. For those holding technical or vocational high school certificate, he has stated that the students will be admitted in the faculties and institutes relevant to their specializations as follows: 5 percent in faculties, 3 percent in institutes, 3 percent of top-ranked students in technical institutes, and no more than 10 percent of graduates from medical and health technical institutes in the faculties of medicine, according to the decree No. 16 of 2022. He has also added that 100 percent of students holding vocational high school certificate will be admitted in the applied faculties and that 5 percent of top-ranked graduates will be appointed in the public authorities. Prof. Sattouf has explained that the students of vocational certificate can only apply for the applied faculties, and congratulated Al-Baath University for adding a new specialization, the Technical Institute of Dentistry (Dental Assistant) for females only. Prof. Sattouf has confirmed that applying for the sorting of university admission eligibility will be exclusively through the aforementioned mechanism and that the university includes centers for students who have not been able to register electronically at the support centers in the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and the Directorate of Student Affairs. If the student makes a mistake in entering his/her data, it will be corrected at the network management center.
