President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib,met with a delegation of 24 students from Iranian universities, after visiting a number of faculties to learn more about their programs and departments. During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of common scientific, academic and cultural cooperation between the two countries to develope the level of students, exchange experiences, organize visits of student delegations and discuss the conditions of teaching assistants who study in Iranian universities.
Prof. Al Khatib gave an introductory overview of the university, faculties and institutes, the number of students at all levels, scientific activities, and university vision to support researchers, scientific research, and work on researches that serve and develop society.
In addition, he mentioned his last visit to Iran to participate as part of the Syrian delegation in the twelfth mathematics conference at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. He emphasized the university’s support for strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation relations with the Iranian side in all fields.
The member of the party leadership at the university, Prof. Adnan Sheikh Hammoud, the university vice-presidents, Prof. Maan Salamah and Prof. Nidal Sattouf, and Mr. Muhammad Rida Hajian, and the counsellor for international affairs at the Iranian embassy in Syria attended the meeting.
