27/06/2023The experimental phase of the Syrian Collegiate Programming Contest (tenth season of 2023) was launched at Al Baath University, with the participation of 39 teams from the faculty students.
Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Maen Salama, stressed the importance of the programming contest in preparing a generation that keeps pace with technological development and contributes to finding solutions that serve reality in various sectors, especially that the competition is not only limited to the students of the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, but also with the participation of students from all faculties in all specializations. He also indicated that the current competition is characterized by the presence of 39 teams from Al Baath University, each consisting of 3 students, pointing to the importance of the experimental day in preparing the contestants for the competition, testing the communication system and the computer network, and ensuring its readiness by competing for 3 hours in solving a number of programming issues, before the official launch of the competition on Thursday.
The university secretary and the member of the national committee for the programming competition, Prof. Fadi Murshid, referred that a center in the Faculty of Informatics Engineering has been equipped with computers and the requirements of the competition, adding that the university was able to achieve outstanding results in the competition and participate internationally for several years, explaining that the university has two teams qualified for two international seasons, the first for the year 2021 and the second for the year 2022, which will be held during the month of November in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
