Al Baath University participated in the second international scientific symposium”Biodiversity Conservation: Towards Sustainable Development”, which was held in Russia in early June .
The university participated with a research titled “Studying Plant Biodiversity in Al-Shaykh Badr District, Tartous Governorate, Syria” by Prof. Lina Al naddaf, Prof. Hala Ahmed, and researchers Rawan Hammoud, Ali Hassan, Reem Suleiman. that was the only research in the symposium that dealt with the subject of plant biodiversity.
President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated that the university participation activates the scientific agreement signed between the university and the institute and reflects the civilized image of the university which has a large number of researchers who are able to participate with their research globally, pointing to the importance of exchanging research and scientific experiences with Russian universities for enhancing the mutual benefit.
Prof. Lina Al naddaf pointed out that the aim of the research is to enhance knowledge of the biodiversity which has economic, nutritional and medical importance.
Moreover, Prof. Hala Ahmed noted its importance in pursuing the study of biodiversity, promoting environmental education and management of natural resources, and using the available plants in the health field
Al Baath University signed a joint scientific agreement with the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas in 10th month of 2022.
