Views on scientific cooperation between Al Baath University and the North Caucasus State University

President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, discussed with the President of North Caucasus State University, Prof. Dmitry Bespalov, the ways to develop scientific and cultural cooperation between the two sides.

Prof. Al Khatib gave the delegation an overview of Al Baath University, its faculties, the number of students, and the teaching specializations, stressing the importance of Syrian-Russian relations at the educational, research and cultural level. In addition, he praised the scientific level of Russian universities which have graduated many scientific cadres, calling for redoubling efforts in conducting joint scientific research especially in the fields of oil and gas as Al Baath University is the only Syrian university that has Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering .

In turn, Prof. Dmitry Bespalov, President of the North Caucasus State University, expressed the willingness of the Russian side to cooperate in various research and educational issues, the qualification of cadres, and joint supervision of postgraduate theses, with the possibility of using the Arabic-Russian language not only the English language . . He also emphasized the interest in many scientific Syrian activities that open up new horizons in the fields of interest to the North Caucasus State University .

After the meeting, the delegation also visited the faculties of agriculture, chemical and petroleum engineering, and civil engineering, and checked the faculties’ laboratories and their equipment.

The meeting was attended by the university vice-presidents and the university secretary.
