Two scientific cooperation agreements between Al-Baath University, Saint Petersburg State University and the Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biology in Russia

With the aim of deepening and developing academic scientific cooperation with the Russian Federation, Al Baath University today signed two joint scientific cooperation agreements; the first with Saint Petersburg State University and the second with the Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biology in Russia.

President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated that the agreements are to strengthen scientific cooperation as well as academic and administrative student exchanges between the two sides through the exchange of professors, researchers and staff.

Prof. Sergey Mikushev, vice-president of Saint Petersburg State University, emphasized the importance of cultural and scientific cooperation between the two universities, given that Al-Baath University is one of the most important Syrian universities. The agreement includes the creation of new scientific degrees (diploma of qualification and specialization – master of qualification and specialization – master – doctorate).

Prof. Berman Gorbunov, representative of the Kovalevsky Institute of Marine Biology, expressed his great happiness for his presence in Syria, stressing the importance of bilateral relations between Syria and Russia, wishing that the agreement signed with the University Al -Baath yields fruitful achievements.
